What is Ghoulburger's Pop-Up Game Shack?
It's "Choose Your Own Adventure" threads. Like a game with a plot that is just for one or two characters, or like Interactive Fiction with a live "Dungeon Master."
Is Ghoulburger a character?
Ghoulburger is the Dungeon Master or Storyteller. All of the characters in the threads here are NPCs except for the characters you play.
How do I participate?
Just wait for a Pop-Up Game Shack post and hop on in. Posts will have an OPEN, FULL, or CLOSED notification on the subject line: OPEN means the post is accepting new threads. FULL means that you can tag in, but replies may be slow or non-existent. CLOSED means no new threads in that post are being accepted.
Can I reply anon?
Sure can. Anon should be allowed on all posts.
Do my responses have to be in any particular format?
No. You can do action tags, prose tags, simple IF parser-style commands like "go left" or "try to find squirrel" - whatever works, as long as I can understand it/respond to it. You don't have to tag as a character, although you may do so if you wish.
My friend and I want to thread our characters in this together.
That's fine. Let me know the posting order in an OOC note or PM. Threads with more than 2 or 3 characters get hard to coordinate, however, so be careful how many people you involve.
Do you take requests?
Sort of. You can request Oneiric (O), Romantic (R), or Erotic (E) content, and you can specify that you are okay with Severe Injury (I) or Horror (H) content. You can request any/all of these things in the subject line of your posts, in OOC notes on posts, or by PM, and preferably as close to the start of the thread as possible. However, when and how stuff shows up in the thread is up to Ghoulburger.
If you link your kinklist or request particular content, Ghoulburger may or may not get around to using those suggestions. No promises.
You can also specify triggers or stuff that threads should avoid, and those specifications will definitely be honored.
Ghoulburger does not want to thread erotic or extreme violent content with players under 18 or characters under 16. No exceptions. Please don't try to get around this, it will make Ghoulburger throw up. It's not cool or fun, and it doesn't mean you "act older than your age." It means Ghoulburger is too busy and too stupid to notice that there is a nasty little sneak around. You can find PLENTY of takers at f-list. You do not need Ghoulburger's tender ministrations.
My Ghoulburger thread is boring.
Drop it. No need for an explanation if you don't want to provide one. There is no karmic penalty for dropping and you are always welcome back another time.
Ghoulburger hasn't tagged my thread in 3 weeks.
Sorry. You may or may not ever get a tag back. If the tag comes late and you've lost interest, there's no harm in dropping.
